Contributions to Sustainability and Environmental Conservation
Several research projects carried out in partnership with funding agencies and companies—especially those in the Brazilian electric power sector—have enabled environmental impact monitoring and the proposal of mitigation measures, as well as the training of human resources, generation of data to support public policy development, and identification of priority areas for protection and conservation.
Training of Qualified Human Resources
Training of master’s and doctoral graduates with an interdisciplinary profile, qualified to work in education, research, environmental management, and in both the public and private sectors.
PEA has alumni working in all 22 Brazilian states, at various universities and in agencies such as IBAMA, ICMBio, ANA, Itaipu, Sanepar, Embrapa, and NGOs, as well as graduates working in other countries.
Technological Innovation and Development of Digital Solutions
Softwares
Creation of software and digital platforms, such as Paraná FishStatus and R packages (chooseGCM, caretSDM, rFishStatus), aimed at monitoring and analyzing aquatic biodiversity.
Integration
Integration of ecology and information technology, promoting innovative solutions for complex environmental problems.

Carrying out teaching, extension, and science communication activities, with emphasis on materials such as educational games and outreach articles.

Events for the annual training of master’s students in scientific communication and project qualification, with participation from professionals from different regions and institutions.
